1987 Synopsis

One day in Japan, Hamato Yoshi and Oroku Saki practice ninja martial arts in an organization called The Foot Clan.  Yoshi is a quiet man that loves renaissance art and Saki is his arch enemy.  One day, the master sensi visited the dojo and Oroku Saki set up Yoshi by pinning him to the wall with a knife, but when Yoshi removed it, the sensei and his guards assumed he is an assassin.  The sensei expels Yoshi.  Yoshi fled America's New York City penniless and must live in the sewers where he takes care of pet rats.  Meanwhile, back in Japan, Saki takes over The Foot Clan and turns them into an army of crime.

One day, a young child is carrying a bowl with four baby turtles.  After a fall, the bowl breaks over a sewer grate and the four turtles fall in where Yoshi is living.  He adopts the four turtles.  Another day, Yoshi comes in, finding the four turtles covered in some kind of glowing mutagen which he also touches while wiping the substance off.  The four turtles and he mutate into humanlike mutants and Yoshi became a rat.

The mutant turtles are called Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo and they nicknamed their rat master, Splinter.  

The Turtles enjoy pizza of bizarre toppings, watch TV and train in the arts of ninjitsu under their master. 

One day, after Splinter is kidnapped, the Turtles locate him in a major battle station underground, residence Saki, now known as Shredder, Splinter's (Hamato Yoshi's) arch enemy from Japan.  Together, the Turtles fight through difficult elements to rescue their sensei from Shredder and his two new mutants and alien brain, Krang.

Throughout the series, the Turtles battle Shredder, Krang and their mutants, Bebop and Rocksteady and other enemies to save Earth from extinction, enjoy pizza, watch TV, train in martial arts and make allies.
