Trivia Facts
The original version of this game was the arcade version, released in 1989, then released for the Nintendo in 1990.
This game has elements of the Mirage comic book series, but contains other elements from the 1987 cartoon series that wasn't in the previous NES game, such as: Baxter Stockman, Krang, and a new theme song.
The original arcade levels were extended, and two new levels and bosses were added: one of them is a snow-covered park where the Turtles have to defeat Tora (an Ice Wolf) and his climate-changing machine, and Shredder's dojo that is guarded by Shogun, a mechanical samurai.
Pizza Hut promoted the game by including their restaurant logo in the city level.
This is the second of five games based off the original 1987 cartoon series, developed by Konami.
The level select cheat code only works in the United States copies. The European and Australian version, the code won't work.
The NES version differs from the arcade version in that the NES version has two extra levels (neither of which appear in the arcade version). One level takes place in the snow (with a humanoid wolf as the level boss) and another level takes place in a dojo (with a samurai with a naginata as the level boss).
Released by PlayStation 4 as part of the Cowabunga Collection, featuring 13 total games.
